2. Characteristics of Numbers Explained

From Your Destiny in Numbers by P.N. Scherman

There are two systems of theory of numbers one is Hebrew, and the other is alphabetical. The former is based on Tarot interpretations while the latter is based on alphabets.

Hebrew way of calculation is rather complicated and was known to Chaldeans and Greeks only. While the alphabetical is very easy and even a lay man can follow with a little practice. I have followed the latter one. Combined with the aspects based mostly on the Aryan theory, the results will be found astounding.

Numerologists working on the Hebric-Tarot system have only 22 key and 52 compound numbers, but in this book I have gone up to 100 compound numbers. For instance one man has got his destiny number 46 and another 64. The aspect and characteristics of 46 will be quite different from that of 64, though their reduced number are the same, 46=4+6=10 = 1+0 = 1 and 64 = 6+4=10=1+0=1 (Chapter 11).

If you see in Chapter 11 the characteristics of numbers 19, 28, 37 and 46 are quite different from those of 91, 82, 73 and 64.

An illustration is given below :

46 "He is good natured, quiet, affable, courteous and not at all inclined to vicious actions. He is peaceable, and is obliging to all, fortunate in affairs and respected by friends and others is apt to possess wide acquaintances in general. Softness of character, inaptitude for strife, a calm life, danger to wife during pregnancy and generally marries late in life. Religious ideas. Celibacy if in conjunction with numbers 9, 5 or 8. Liking for beautiful house, car and carriage etc. He is loved by others. It gives good monetary position and helps him in fulfilment of his ambitions. They marry a genius woman.

He is attached to another man's wife. It threatens premature loss of children and exposure of secret connections. He often gets money from women, poetry, drama, art and music. He will always save out of his earnings. Prosperity in 46th, 51st and 64th year, with some loss in the family in 64th year."

64 "A person who is self opinionated and a prodigal. He is given to debate and controversy and seldom leaves any wealth at the time of his death. Impulsive attachments, hasty marriage, frequently followed by estrangement or death of the partner. Many open enemies and public contests, caused by wilful and stubborn opposition. Very evil and threatens a very unhappy marriage and often separation, the wife or husband will be cruel, violent or adulterous. He after some years of conjugal happiness with his wife will lose such pleasure due to his wife's organ of generation being damaged or operated upon.

It is nearly, if not quite, the worst possible for marital or conjugal happiness. Very bad for law and disputes, also partnerships, all of which he should avoid, shows opposition to him. Success by powerful adversaries. It threatens loss and a bad position for business, bad end of every bargain. Misery in old age and prolonged sickness. Women generally remain spinsters."

But according to other authors of numerology, specially the Western the result for both the numbers which comes to number 1 are similar. But in this book the results given to different compound numbers are quite different to one another as explained and illustrated.

A person who is aware of his birth date can after taking out his destiny number by reducing it to one single digit can see the characteristic and all other factors of life from the different tables e. g. professions, directions, marriage, colours, talismans etc. Suppose a person is born on 24-11-1909, that is during the eighth zodiac month of the year (Chapter 3 Division of zodiac), which is represented by No. 9 having association with Mars. Now by computing all his numbers and getting it reduced to one single digit. 24-11-1909 2+4+1 + 1 + 1+9+0+9=27=2+7=9.

Now this number 9 is his destiny number derived from compound number is 27. His date of birth which is 24 also plays an important part in his life. So he should look up number 24 (Chapter 16 number 6 and its compound numbers). No. 27=2 + 7=9 (Chapter 19 No. 9 and its compound numbers). Also Chapter 3 Division of zodiac. As regards profession, direction, marriage, partner, colours, talismans etc, he can see different tables for different matters.

Here I have computed my work for the help of those who are not aware of their birth date, can do the same by summing up their name number and reducing it to one single digit, by making that reduced number as their destiny number with the help of the table of alphabets, fully illustrated as under. But in such cases where the date of birth is known by him and unfortunately the destiny number which is arrived by reducing the date, month and year and that by name which is in use, do not coincide. In such cases the latter is to be followed as suggested in Chapter 22 of this book.

EXAMPLE:
Robert Mclean who is not aware of his date of birth wishes to know about his future. He can do so by taking out his destiny number from the alphabets of his name, with the help of table of alphabets.

From his name he gets his compound numbers 33 and 21. When these two numbers are added, it brings another compound number 54 (33+21 =54). Again when reduced to a single number it comes to number 9 (5+4 =9). All these numbers i.e. 33, 21, 54 and 9 have the following characteristics.

33 He is just, noble, courteous, humane, affable, agreeable, polite, and accomplished. Success in religious and philosophical pursuits, legal matters, foreign affairs and gains in foreign land. Good rider and fond of sports. Successful in the use of arms. Victory over enemies, good fortune, wealth and inheritance. Sure dignities and honours, landed properties, estates. Success in all things and high office. A person of position having association with nobles and eminent men. Danger to father in 7th year and to mother in the 35th year and to his own life in the 69th year.

21 "A harmless, cheerful person and is fond of travels. It may give one position as a captain or admiral of a ship, and travelling over long distances. It gives a good father, good position, good education, honour high birth, inheritance and all hopes will be fulfilled at the end of one's life.

Danger in water if in conjunction with 8 or 9. It helps him to triumph over jealous persons and enemies of low position in life. Not much liked by the public. Will have few sons one of whom will live by agriculture. The mother will live long. May become an adviser to a ruler or his preceptor. Merchant in jewels and gem stones. Sometimes, it makes him unpopular or sometimes for attraction of favours and disfavours and he may be much liked by some and much assailed by others. He is often disliked by women and in case of women she is much disliked by men. It indicates loss in 12th and 32nd year.

54 "He dabbles in curious things of little avail, is studious, subtle and reserved, inclined to be servile and of shuffling habit. Bestows wealth and longevity from servants, labourers and inferiors. Should guard himself against disease like diphtheria which baffles the skill of medical men.

9 "This is the number of energy, power, position, also for sympathy, brotherhood and artistic impression. He is prone to accidents. It shows strifes in marital life sometime. It confers a sense of freedom, high ambition, executive ability, frankness, truthfulness and disregard for consequences. It renders the mind forceful and militant, stimulates to new projects and enterprises,"

* See Chapter 16
** See Chapter 13.
*** See Chapter 19.

This shows that he being of destiny No. 9 now for all matters of life e. g. profession, marriage, colour, talismans, etc., one should do all under number 9 as explained in the book under different headings.

In case he finds it contrary he can change his name and bring it another successful number as fully explained in Chapter 22 (Illustration).
